Peninsula Productions presents Lache Cercel and the Roma Swing Ensemble

January 16, 2012

Friday, February 10th at 8 pm at First United Church in White Rock, Peninsula Productions will present Lache Cercel and The Roma Swing Ensemble. This wonderful, Vancouver-based ensemble combines the flare and passion of eastern European melodies, swing jazz harmonies and a little Egyptian percussion into a smorgasbord that has been thrilling audience worldwide – virtuoso violin, dazzling guitar, bombastic bass and thundering percussion are joined by guest musicians and vocalists.

Lache Cercel and the Roma Swing Ensemble have also composed, arranged and recorded several movie soundtracks, including for “Moving Malcolm” and “Suspino” (Leo Award for Best Soundtrack 2005). Here is a link to a wonderful short video, courtesy of their website, of their dueling violins.

Tickets are $25 in advance from Surrey Arts Centre, from Tapestry Music, 1335 Johnston Road, and at First United Church. Tickets will also be available at the door before the concert at $30.
